En France et en Europe, les acheteurs se détachent de plus en plus du diesel. Un sondage réalisé par nos soins auprès de 2 266 internautes en septembre 2016 a mis au jour que 54% des automobilistes le considéraient même comme dangereux pour la santé. De ce fait, l'essence remonte dans les statistiques d'immatriculation.
Bien entendu, c'est aussi parce que les constructeurs ont massivement investi dans le développement de moteurs plus agréables et moins énergivores pour des carrosseries plus grandes. Et si le diesel représente 83% des ventes totales du 3008 à ce jour (entreprises et particuliers), les commandes passées par les particuliers font état de 40 % de motorisations essence. Le bloc à trois cylindres turbo qui prend place sous le capot du Peugeot 3008 n'est toutefois pas nouveau : il équipait également l'ancien modèle, qui était quant à lui vendu 29 350 € avec un niveau d'équipement inférieur à finition égale.

Prix Peugeot 3008 1.2 Puretech Allure
C'est avec ce moteur que la gamme essence du nouveau 3008 démarre : 25 900 € en finition Access (voir tous les tarifs et équipements du Peugeot 3008). La version de notre essai est une Allure, autrement dit le troisième niveau de finition sur quatre disponibles avec cette motorisation.
Vendu 30 450 €, ce nouveau Peugeot 3008 quelque peu huppé se situe dans le prix moyen des futures transactions espérées par Peugeot pour son nouveau SUV. Bien équipée, cette version Allure reçoit toutes les fonctions habituelles de confort et de sécurité.
Et aussi des équipements plus technologiques comme par exemple :
- lePack Safety Plus (Active Safety Brake avec Distance Alert, alerte active de franchissement involontaire de ligne, système actif de surveillance d'angle mort, alerte somnolence, commutation automatique des feux de route),
- ou encore le système Peugeot Connect (navigation connectée 3D avec reconnaissance vocale, cartographie Europe avec connexion automatique, services connectés -trafic, carburants, parkings, météo-, abonnement de 3 ans inclus).
LeVolkswagen Tiguan Confortlinecommence quant à lui 32 730 € en essence, offre 20 ch de plus (150 ch) mais demande de passer par la case "option" pour obtenir le même niveau d'équipement, ce qui augmente encore sensiblement son prix (voir le Peugeot face au Volkswagen Tiguan).
LeNissan Qashqaiest en revanche moins puissant (115 ch en version essence) mais est aussi moins cher. La version la plus haut de gamme, très équipée, culmine à 28 950 € avec peu d'options.
LeRenaultKadjarse trouve un peu dans la même situation, avec des tarifs un peu plus élevés que son cousin japonais : 28 600 € pour la livrée Intens, et 30 300 € pour la Black Edition, qui en offre davantage que cette seconde génération de 3008 (sellerie cuir, notamment).
Le nouveau SUV Peugeot fait donc payer -un peu- son effet nouveauté, mais sait rester attractif en comparaison d'une concurrence solide ou identifiée comme plus chic (le Tiguan) qui reste sa cible privilégiée.

Au volant du nouveau 3008 essence
Un moteur 1.2 turbo à trois cylindres sous le capot d'un SUV de 4,45 m de long peut laisser perplexe. Mais le nouveau 3008 a perdu du poids : 1250 kg, alors que l'ancien 3008 équipé du même moteur accusait 1400kg sur la balance !
De ce fait, le nouveau 3008 conserve son allant, même si ses performances restent voisines de celles de l'ancien modèle : 10,8 s pour passer de 0 à 100 km/h, contre 11 s précédemment.
Homologué à 5,1 l/100 km en moyenne, il convient néanmoins de préciser qu'il consomme deux bons litres de plus dans la réalité.

Dès les premiers tours de roue, le moteur 1.2 Puretech de 130 ch s'affiche comme une bonne surprise. Les accélérations sont franches, et les reprises sans délai grâce au souffle du turbo.
Sur route, un sentiment de légèreté s'empare du conducteur. Les suspensions apparaissent un peu plus fermes que sur la version 1.6 BlueHDi essayée précédemment, laquelle était davantage typée SUV avec son système Grip Control et ses pneus Mud and Snow.
Dans l'habitacle du 3008 1.2 Puretech Allure
Moderne à l'extérieur, le 3008 II l'est également à l'intérieur. Le i-Cockpit, la grande dalle numérique qui permet d'afficher toutes les informations en digital à la place du tableau de bord est d'ailleurs livrée de série sur toutes les versions, y compris en entrée de gamme.
A bord, l'ambiance est bonne, la finition soignée et les matériaux bien choisis. A coup sûr, quelle que soit la motorisation choisie, la finition Allure figurera parmi les plus vendues. L'ergonomie est bien pensée et rien de manque.
A l'avant comme à l'arrière, l'espace est suffisant et l'accroissement de l'empattement profite à l'habitabilité. L'imposante console centrale, qui "entoure" le conducteur, peut faire débat, mais cette configuration plaisait visiblement beaucoup à bord de l'ancienne version.
Reste qu'un peu plus de largeur pour les jambes du conducteur n'aurait pas été superflue... Enfin, il est important de noter la bonne modularité : siège abattable en 2/3 1/3 formant un plancher plat de série, et la grande capacité d'emport du nouveau 3008 : de 520 à plus de 1 400 litres.

Bilan essai Peugeot 3008 1.2 Puretech
Démonstratif en style, bien équipé et très agréable à conduire, le nouveau 3008 est une bonne surprise. Cette version 1.2 Puretech est, quant à elle, surprenante de vivacité et d'agrément mécanique.
Nul doute qu'il faudra maintenant davantage compter avec ces versions essence, qui n'ont rien à envier au diesel, si ce n'est une consommation effectivement plus basse.
A l'aise sur route, et même dans les chemins grâce à sa garde au sol de 22 cm, cette version nous est apparue être un excellent choix, et un bon compromis pour un usage familial, ou pour ceux qui ne parcourent pas plus de 20 000 km par an.

le moteur essence 1,2 l pure tech est sans doute performant , mais n'est ce pas au dépend de la longévité ? l'avenir le dira .Par contren sa , consommation est prohibitive même si l'on a le pied léger : 7,5 l/100 soit plus de 2.5 l qu'un 120 cv diesel + capacité réservoir ridicule : 53 l , il en résulte une autonomie insuffisante surtout si l'on fait de l'autoroute . Il faut refaire le plein au bout de 550 km pour ne pas risquer la panne . Sur une 3008 diesel de 120 cv on a dans les mêmes conditions d'utilisation une autonomie de 950 km soit 400 km de plus . où est le progrés ? on se rapproche dangereusement des voitures électriques . il faut toujours avoir l'oeil sur la jauge ou l'ordinateur de bord , et guetter la prochaine pompe .... c'est énervant !!! Sifflement de la transmition très désagréable qui fait penser à une boite de vitesse en fin de vie ( la mienne a 3000km ) !!!! d'autant plus que le moteur est particulièrement silencieux ( ou l'insonorisation poussée ) Position de conduite discutable : volant sur les genoux même en position haute maxi , ce qui nécessite des contortions pour s'installer au volant . Une fois installé ( je mesure 1,77 m ) ,on est" engonsé" : les genoux droit et gauche tapent dans la colonne de direction à chaque freinage ou débrayage et le genou droit frotte en plus sur la console centrale . La tête se rapproche du plafond si l'on veut une vision panoramique comme on le souhaite dans un suv . On ne comprend pas ce concept qui n'apporte rien , au contraire , et malheureusement généralisé sur la gamme peugeot . Aucun autre constructeur n'applique ce principe , et pour cause !!!!Malgré l'augmentation de longueur ( 5 cm ) , on se demande à quoi elle profite : pas au coffre en tout cas . Prises usb et 12 v inacccessibles au fond du vide poche central . prix des peintures métal ainsi que blanc banquise nécessitent un supplément honteux . On regrette ces régressions par rapport à l'ancien modèle , car la 3008 a progressé dans d'autres domaines : confort de suspension , ergonomie des sièges av , visibilité av , nombreuses aides à la conduite (malheureusement en option à un prix injustifié ), Je m'interroge sur l'oportunité de revenir au diesel sur mon prochain véhicule
